Some things I’ve learned in the CBT clinics I’ve been going to regarding anxiety that I thought might be helpful to some.
THANK YOU SO MUCH
LIKE FOR REAL
No one really understands my anxiety or why I have panic attacks, and usually assumes that I can “just get over it” by way of “mind over matter,” which is the most frustrating shit on the planet. It’s a very difficult thing to combat by yourself, especially in silence, and ESPECIALLY once you’ve tried to reach out for support from people whose knowledge on your predicament doesn’t go far beyond generalized stereotypes. We are often very lonely as a result, and feeling trapped in your mind, inside of a disease you can’t control, is massively depressing.
Please stay educated on this shit, and learn how to properly deal/communicate with someone who does suffer from ANY disorder. The ignorance on mental health & the consequential mishandling of particular predicaments only makes our suffering worse.
